Serving Our Youth

Motivated Unified Sound Impacting Communities, Inc.

M.U.S.I.C., Inc was incorporated September 15, 2010 as a charitable, non-profit organization.  An organization designed to give youth between the ages of 8 and 18 an alternative to drugs and crime; continue to learn and develop their love for music, and develop everyday skills that will enhance their personal lives.  The program is governed by its Board of Directors which consist of members from the community with business and artistic backgrounds.  We are a 501c3 approved organization operated by donations, fundraisers, sponsors, partners and grants.  We appreciate your assistance in helping to enhance the lives of young people through whatever means are available to you.

Thank you kindly,  Ethel M. Robinson-Burns

About The President

A resident of the Pompano Beach community, a graduate of Blanche Ely High School and a member of the local 15th Street Church of Christ for forty-nine years.  Forty-plus of those years  have been married to Andrew W. Burns.  We have a daughter, son-in-law and three beautiful grandsons.  In 2008 I retired from the Broward County School System after thirty years of service.  During the last ten years with the school system; I organized and ran a Youth Crime Watch program with at-risk high school age students.  I have volunteered as a band booster with the local high school for the past eight years and have witness the impact that music has on children of all ages.  I have also witness the disappointment of children whose music programs were taken out of the elementary and middle schools because of budget cuts.  I am a strong advocate for programs that afford students the opportunity to express themselves and learn non-violent, anti-bullying skills.  Research shows, in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences that music has been thought to enhance performance on cognitive tests and it gives students a positive avenue of expression.

Our team of instructors are motivated by their love of music and the passion to transfer their knowledge and skills to others so their creativity and talent can shine.
